Providing strength where land meets water.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW Deltalok System Overview The Deltalok System is the only bio-engineered erosion control method with permanent structural strength. The Deltalok System makes it possible to interlock soil bags, increasing the shear strength. The Deltalok System is able to provide a mechanical connection between the self-standing wall and reinforced soil backfill to achieve a uniform structure.

Retaining Wall

Customer required a level first lane along the edge of a golf course. The golf course bordered a forest preserve and was not level. The forest authorities in Korea would not allow retaining wall blocks, gabions or anything utilizing concrete or steel to confine mechanically stabilized earth.

Retaining Wall stage 1
First layer of geogrid mechanically connected to the wall face utilizing the Deltalok engineered unit.
Retaining Wall stage 2
Completion of first lift.
Retaining Wall stage 3
Hydro-seeding of completed retaining wall.
Retaining Wall stage 4
Vegetation established after 8 weeks.

Culvert Head Wall

Culvert head walls and ditch linings, often use rip rap for erosion protection. In this instance there is not enough room for a proper slope. The Deltalok system provided superior strength in a confined space.

Culvert Head Wall 1
Site before construction.
Culvert Head Wall 2
Installation of Deltalok, GTX -140S bags and standard units.
Culvert Head Wall 3
Project completed with minimal excavation.
Culvert Head Wall 4
Vegetation beginning after 1 week.

Slip Repair

A culvert has failed internally and has washed out the embankment. In order to save the road from collapsing. The slope was rebuilt with the Deltalok system. As the system vegetates it will strengthen the slope and resist further washout.

Slip Repair stage 1
Site before construction.
Slip Repair stage 2
Installation of Deltalok GTX-140M bags and standard units.
Slip Repair stage 3
Project completed in two days with minimal traffic interference.
Slip Repair stage 4
Vegetated in 10 weeks with riparian plants.
