PAK™27 was developed to provide a non-copper-based, environmentally safe algaecide that selectively removes blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) without harming the rest of the ecosystem. This product is designed for use in lakes, ponds and watergardens.

PAK™27 works through an oxidation process, releasing hydrogen peroxide into the water supply. It is a selective treatment for blue-green algae—meaning that at the lower end of the dosage rate (below 17#/acft) PAK™27 does not harm beneficial forms of aquatic life, such as green algae, diatoms, and other desirable algal forms.

PAK™27 is a granular product that attacks planktonic and filamentous algae on contact. You can actually see it working as you applyPAK™27 to the algae. PAK™27 active ingredient, sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, creates a powerful oxidation reaction that destroys algal cell membranes and chlorophyll, providing immediate control of algae. Fast-acting (within 60 seconds of application), it leaves behind no harmful residues and adds 13% bio-available oxygen to the water.

PAK™27 is effective both as an algaecide (eliminating existing blue-green algae infestations) and as an algaestat (i.e., retarding and preventing new growth). It works quickly, and neither it nor its byproducts (hydrogen peroxide and oxygen) linger in the ecosystem.

Can also be applied as a spot or perimeter treatment. EPA approved and NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified for drinking water application.

Begin application in spring as water temperature warms to 60º F and above. Early treatment when growth first appears or begins to create a nuisance will reduce the amount of PAK™27 you will need. Early treatment will also reduce the amount of dead growth.

Heavy, out of control growth may require more than one application or physical removal to gain control. For best results, use under conditions of minimal water flow. Apply early on the morning of a calm, sunny day.

PAK™27 can be applied either manually, or by using most existing broadcast spreaders.

The product is applied at 3.0 to 100.0 lbs/acre-ft.

In Wisconsin and other states, chemical use permits are required for all herbicide/algaecide applications or you must have in place a current Type I or Type II fish farm license. Check with your local and/or state regulatory group for specific requirements. In order to apply chemicals in liquid form within Wisconsin, the applicator must be licensed with the State.
